Climbing — REIGN

The wall
doesn't lie.

Climbing is where I think clearly. It's also where I've built the clearest version of what I do professionally: reading problems, building systems, training people to lead. On the wall & off it, the work is the same.

My Context

I came to climbing the way most people do: someone dragged me in, I got humbled, & then I wanted to figure out how arranging polyurethane resin holds on a 15ft wall could be so intriguing. What kept me hooked wasn't the grades. It was the clarity that comes from doing the impossible.

"Climbing is a mirror to life. The wall shows you exactly who you are: your hesitation, your commitment, your willingness to fall."

I've coached beginners who were terrified of the wall & watched them lead climb within months. I've seen people use climbing to process grief, rebuild confidence, & find community. That's not incidental, that's the intent. The gym is just the proving ground.

This is why I take instruction seriously. Unintentional coaches can ruin the experience before it starts. A good one can change what someone believes is possible for them.

Flexibility / mobility — lowest stat, highest leverage for grade progression
Power & endurance — both at 6, holding back consistency on V10+
Sport lead — gap between bouldering (8) and lead (7) suggests route reading & sustained effort
